How to use

Horse Spray:

Apply the Spray onto the affected area from an approximately 15cm distance. You can use your hands or a brush to help the product get absorbed into the skin, but this is not required.

Horse Gel:
With clean hands, pump some Gel onto your fingers and gently massage it into the affected area, or dab on if the skin is very sore.

HorseShampoo:

Apply to wet coat and massage in gently. Allow to sit for a few minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.

For itchy and problem skin, we recommend using the Spray and Gel together. In this case, start by applying the Spray and briefly wait until it’s been absorbed by the skin. Follow up by applying the Gel on any red hot, sensitive, sore or damaged areas to further nourish and protect the skin.

We recommend using the Spray and Gel 3-4 times a day at first (although it will not do any harm if you feel you need to apply more frequently than this). When you start to see an improvement, you can reduce the frequency to 1-2 times a day. When the skin has returned to relative normalcy, you can still apply the Gel every now and again to keep the skin topped up with moisture and nutrients, or switch to using the Spray a few times a week to boost and maintain skin health. If your pet needs a bath, make sure to use our gentle, natural Cat Shampoo - but avoid over-washing, as it can disturb the natural balance of the skin.

FAQs

Is it safe if my horse licks the Spray or Gel?

Yes, our Spray and Gel are safe when accidentally ingested. However, we do recommend giving the products as much time as possible to be absorbed by the skin and start working its magic. For that reason, if your dog has the tendency to lick the area after applying the Spray or Gel, we recommend distracting them for a few minutes with cuddles, food or toys.

Is it safe if my horse licks the Spray or Gel?

For the Hoof Clay, we recommend using a brush to apply - the product does not come with one.

The Hoof Oil comes with a small brush for an easy and precise application.

What is the difference between the Spray and the Gel?

The Spray is great at stopping the itch/scratch cycle quickly and is easy to use on larger areas or longer fur. It has 15 natural oils and extracts that hydrate and feed the skin a plethora of vitamins and minerals. This increases the skin's strength over time and helps prevent flare ups and skin irritations.

The Gel is designed to soothe sore and inflamed skin. It can be used on broken skin to aid wound healing and is perfect to use on the face and paws, as well as targeted areas on the rest of the body. The cooling gel texture calms irritated skin quickly whilst the omega-rich formula helps nourish the area back to health.

They work very well together, as the Spray sinks quickly into the skin, and once absorbed, the Gel sits nicely on top to protect the skin and promote healing.

Can I use these products when my horse is competing?

Yes, all Anicura products are FEI compliant and suitable for horses that compete. Our Hoof Oil is particularly suitable as it enhances the hooves' natural appearance with a beautiful, natural shine.
